I recently lead the 5th edition of a course about how to spiritually prepare our transition from death to Light. While death continues to be the greatest taboo of our time, it does not erase the fact that we will all go through it. It is by understanding that we are a soul, not a body, that we can dissolve the fear of death and live life in a more purposely manner.

I have always been fascinated by what happens to us after we die and how this fits with the overall picture of who really are and why we happen to show up on Earth over and over again. It has taken me many years of studying mayor spiritual traditions, practicing meditation and contemplation, spending a lot of time in India and Nepal studying with lamas and retreating, volunteering at a hospital with children with cancer for 10 years, and going through different and profound experiences to start figuring out how things work on a deeper level, and how to live a life that is rooted in peace and harmony despite external circumstances. It is the fruits of this inner work that I have started to share with others, trying to guide them on their own unique path.

At the end of the above-mentioned workshop, I always mention a reading list for those interested in going further. Robert Schwartz’s book: Your Soul’s Plan is part of this list. It is a must read for those looking for answers beyond science and what the material society in which we operate tell us to believe. It paints a larger picture where everything makes sense and we can heal by understanding that there are no accidents or coincidences. We are meant to learn from every challenge.

It is an excellent book that I can highly recommend. The premise is that we are not humans having a spiritual experience, but spiritual beings having a human experience. All experiences bring us the opportunity to grow in  wisdom, and enrich our soul with it. It certainly is an empowering way of looking at life.
